Governing Board
To steer the activities of the Academy, a Governing Board consisting of a President, a Past-President, a Secretary-General and four Fellows representing all disciplines Europe-wide, is in place.
The Governing Board is committed to ensuring that the Academy represents the widest spectrum of oncology disciplines and that membership is balanced both from a geographical and gender perspective and oversees the annual Fellows election process.
The ‘Governing Board’ currently consists of:
- President: Michael Baumann (DEU),
- Past President: Anton Berns (NLD),
- Secretary-General: Klas Kärre (SWE),
- Other Governing Board Members: Jean Yves Blay, (FRA), Fatima Carneiro (PRT), Francesco de Lorenzo (ITA), Alexander Markham (UK), Elisabete Weiderpass (FRA)
Internal rules
As an independent body, the Academy is governed by a set of internal rules covering Fellowship, governance mandates, and administration.
